• Soft strings - absorb impact and take the pressure out of your arm

• Tough strings - more durable

• Ribbed string - more topspin

• Hybrid strings - more power and control

Tensions

Each tension is personal to a player and the racket.

A higher tension tends to give more control, however, you can feel the impact of the shot more.

A lower tension can give more power and can give a softer feel.
